CREATION EXAMINATION BY BRIAN CALVEY
Plato once said, “The unexamined life is not worth living.” So why do so many of us refuse to take the time to take a step back and ponder our life journey? Is it due to fear of what we might find? Is it because it’s easier to blindly follow in the footsteps of our peers? Or is it that we’re so ingrained in the system that we see no other way?
One of the biggest killers of creativity is not giving oneself the opportunity to create. One who lives for innovation will create in one year what the normal cog in the machine will create in a lifetime. Whose expectations are you trying to meet by living a “normal” existence? Whose “rules” are so important that you’ll abandon your dreams to stay within the confines? Is there really anything that you to do in life?
Ask yourself if the path that you’re on now is the path that you wish to be on forever. Ask yourself what is going to matter to you most when it’s all over. Will you pass up a life of creation in order to buy a sense of security? Is it the number of zeros in your bank account or the number of people you impacted that is going to matter more?
You’re going to die one day. Live according.
