ART V. CREATIVE THINKING BY RACHEL CUSACK

ART V. CREATIVE THINKING BY RACHEL CUSACK

I was always taught that being a creative person meant that you had to be good at art, drawing, painting, and  sculpting. If you excelled at all of the stuff that you were taught in art class in elementary school, you were a creative person and would go on to do great “creative” things in life.

Then college happened. The business school happened. And a whole new definition of creativity arose; a definition that actually made sense was presented.

As a person who excelled at art and design in primary school, I was astounded at how many Business students were much more creative than I was. Then a realization came about, being creative was never about how good you were with a brush or a knife; it is about your ability to solve problems and your ability to create ideas that will enlighten, encourage, and change the lives of others in a positive way, in a way that has never been thought of before but is so genius that people wondered why it never existed before.
