THOMAS THE TANK ENGINE BY KRIS FIOCCA

One of the things we talk about in regards to enhancing our creativity is how to go back to the days of our childhood where our imagination was boundless. How can we get back to the days of asking thousands of questions to anyone who cared to listen?

When I try to think back to those days, I remember playing with toy trains as a child. My brother and I were big fans of Thomas the Tank Engine and all of his friends. Together, we played with our toy trains constantly. Our parents were always willing to buy us any trains and accessories we wanted for birthdays and holidays, but not a table to build train tracks on.

Why did they never buy us a train table? Our parents believed that having a table would limit our creativity. They wanted us to think outside the box (or table) and let our imaginations run wild. To this day, I try to live out my life differently. I try to think about how I can live my life to the fullest through creativity. I think that it is important to break out of your box and live the life you want, not one that stays inside the box.

In what ways do you think you may be stuck inside the box? How can you escape your “box” and become more creative?
