CHILDLIKE CREATIVITY INTO ADULTHOOD BY MALLORY CENTERS
Everyone is born with an innate spark for creativity. Think back to all of the times when you were a kid and all of the games you created with your imagination. Maybe it was going on a Safari adventure in your backyard or turning a closet into a spaceship. As children, we are not afraid to create the impossible, so why do we fear the impossible as adults?
I believe it is possible to hold onto our childlike creativity and use it in adulthood. Creative opportunities present themselves every day, we just have to be courageous enough to take advantage of them. They can be small or large projects. I know I have always loved expressing my creativity through the arts. I was that kid in high school who was in all of the plays and took an art class every semester. Now in college, my creativity has seeped into all aspects of my life, not just the arts. For example, Snapchat has allowed me to be creative with pictures, dining halls have challenged me to make new combinations of the food they have available and group projects have allowed for me to collaborate with others’ creativity. There is no end to all of the possibilities. Next time you are presented with an opportunity, do not let it pass you by, embrace it instead.
