LIVING IN FEAR BY SEAN GABBERT

LIVING IN FEAR BY SEAN GABBERT

Find your comfort zone. Now lose it again. You think people get their names in history books because they slept in late and had a relaxing Sunday? Hell no. They did what absolutely terrified them. They did things that nobody had ever done before, sometimes what was thought to be impossible. I mean seriously, some poor guy probably had to walk into his boss’ office with a straight face and suggest that we can put a man on the moon… and bring him back alive.

To me, creativity is learning to live with this constant fear that’s present in all of us.  It’s waking up in the morning ready to try new things, make mistakes, and never being afraid to fail. Mike Tyson may not be a Rhodes scholar, but he did say one pretty intelligent thing. He said,  ““Fear is the greatest obstacle to learning. But fear is your best friend. Fear is like fire. If you learn to control it, you let it work for you. If you don’t learn to control it, it’ll destroy you and everything around you.”

Learning to harness and deal with the natural fear of the unknown is essential to personal growth. It can push you to be better, work harder, and make history.
