INSPIRATION TREES BY JOHN HUFFMAN

INSPIRATION TREES BY JOHN HUFFMAN

I find that acting quickly on a strong feeling of inspiration allows you to expand your
creative abilities in a tree-like form. By imagining each of your creative passions as
a separate branch, letting one motivation to lead to the next allows you to grow
through learning, experience, and continuous discovery of new inspiration.
Eventually, your creative outlets, or branches, become extensive and intertwined,
allowing you to develop a well-rounded set of creative skills applicable to all aspects
of life.

One branch of my creative tree:

I have always been a passionate fan of electronic music. This prompted me to teach
myself how to produce it. Every time I heard a new genre, song, or artist that I liked,
I would use all of my available recourse to learn how it was made. From there I
started incorporating the styles I learned into things I made. I then started working
on projects with friends who had similar interests. Since they were much more
experienced, I was able learned all about various software, instruments, recording
techniques and much more. I then started to share what I had discovered with
others and solidified my knowledge through teaching it myself. This opened the
door for further connections, development, learning, and even more creative
opportunities in my daily life.
