YOUR CLOTHES SPEAK BY CHASE BETTNER
I get so much of my creative inspiration from the clothes that I wear. Pairing things together, trying out new combinations, repurposing something into something else…any time I can get the creative juices flowing via fashion, I seize the opportunity.
There is NO better feeling than rocking a bomb outfit. You’re confident in the way you look, which translates into confidence that you exude in everything you do, which ultimately leads to producing high-quality work, whatever that work may be.
But to me, there is so much more to fashion than just being confident in yourself. Your clothes speak volumes about yourself before you even open your mouth, and deciding how to creatively (and strategically) display this message can be the ultimate test of critical thinking and inspiration.
Different situations require different outfits. Different moods require different outfits. Different occasions require different outfits. The list goes on and on and on…there is no one set, default group of clothes that accurately communicate how I’m feeling, where I’m going or what I’ll be doing. That’s where the creativity comes in; reinventing something to work for the circumstances at hand— even if it’s just a pair of jeans.
We find creative ways to communicate with one another, and the way we dress should be no exception.
