HAPPILY UNDECLARED BY GRACE ROBY

HAPPILY UNDECLARED BY GRACE ROBY

People are always saying “Tell me about yourself.”  However, what they mean is

“tell me your name, hometown, year in school, and major.”

Grace Roby, Sophomore, Columbus, ____________ ?

When I came to Miami as a freshman I was scrambling to figure out a major to

figure out my life and to move along to the next step. However, as time went on I found

myself unable to choose. I would get asked:

“What do you like to do?”

I don’t know.

“What classes do you like?”

I don’t know.

“What career might you want to have?”

I don’t know.

The only thing I could tell you was that I wanted was to do something in life that

made me happy, and I don’t know exactly what that might be.

Accounting?

Maybe.

Marketing?

Maybe.

Management?

Maybe.

Finance?

Maybe.

Until I can confidently answer Yes, I’m not ready to declare. When I declare it will

be because I am confident that I will be pursuing something that will make me happy.

But for now, I am Happily Undeclared.
