The Sticky Note Perspective

As a child, I was conditioned to color between the lines and destroy my sense of creativity. Since starting college as a conformist freshman, there has been one strategy to save me from this deep hole of non-creative thinking. Sticky note brainstorming has allowed me to understand that we all have the capacity to be creative.

Being able to quantify and visualize my improvements have allowed me to gain confidence in my ability to understand that being creative is about putting in the effort. When I came to understand this, I soon realized that I could come up with 200 ideas on my own.

The question is not whether or not you can do it, rather the question is how willing you are to jump into the ambiguity, grab a Sharpie, some sticky notes, and find a blank wall to fill with ideas beyond what you could have ever imagined possible.
